For privacy, the database does not have geographical locations that locate a smartphone at a point in space. Each smartphone (device_id) is associated with an origin region (ageb_preponderante) and a destination region (stat_area_2). The regions are taken from a territory division created by the Statistical Bureau of Mexico (INEGI). The regions are called AGEB (http://en.www.inegi.org.mx/app/glosario/default.html?p=localidades). The AGEB is a geographic area occupied by a set of blocks perfectly delimited by streets, avenues, walkways, or any other easily identifiable feature on the ground and whose land use is mainly residential, industrial, service, and commercial, among others, and are only assigned within urban areas, which are those with a population greater than or equal to 2,500 inhabitants, and in municipal capitals. A typical Urban AGEB goes from 25 to 50 blocks. The AGEB is formed by four grupo of keys (XX XXX XXXX XXXX) 1. The first group is formed by two alphanumeric digits (from 00 to 32), wichs are associated with a state in Mexico 2. The second group is formed by three alphanumeric digits (from 000 to 570), wichs are associated with a municipality in Mexico 3. The third group is formed by four alphanumeric digits (from 0000 to 9999), wichs are associated with a locality in Mexico 4. The fourth group is formed by four alphanumeric digits. This group's first three alphanumeric digits range from 000 to 999, and the last alphanumeric digits range from 0 to 9 or from A to P. This group is associated with an AGEB in Mexico. The shp containing the geographical location of the AGEB in the Study area is found in the AGEB.shp The columns of the dataset are defined as follows. - device_id: Device identification number. The device is a smartphone - subdivision_1: identification number of the Mexican state - subdivision_2: Identification number of the Mexican municipality - stat_area_2: destination AGEB (see cvegeo in the AGEB.shp) - year: the year when the record was captured - month: the month when the information was collected - day: the day when the information was collected - polygon: name of the zone (see the paper for reference) - fecha: the date when the when the information was collected, the format is mm/dd/yyyy - hora: the hour of the day when the when the information was collected, the format is in 24hrs (HH) - ageb_preponderante: origin AGEB (see cvegeo in the AGEB.shp)
