About TUMI Data Hub

Project Overview

This Data Hub is an open platform for collecting, sharing, and analyzing data related to mobility and urban planning. It aims to provide a comprehensive database of information that can be used to inform and guide decision-making in urban mobility. It is an open platform for collecting, sharing, and analyzing data related to mobility and urban planning. The Data Hub therefore aims to provide a comprehensive database of information that can be used to inform and guide decision-making in urban mobility.

The development of the Data Hub is supported by the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI), a project initiated by the German development organization, GIZ, with a goal to promote sustainable urban mobility in cities of the developing world.

Why Open Data?

We believe that open data is a crucial tool in the effort to promote sustainable urban mobility. By making data freely available, we can enable researchers and planners to better understand the needs and opportunities of different cities, and to develop effective strategies for improving mobility.

Technical Setup

The TUMI Data Hub is built on CKAN, an open-source data management system, and is designed to make key mobility and urban planning datasets easily accessible to anyone who needs them. This includes policymakers, researchers, and urban planners working to improve mobility in cities around the world.

In addition to providing access to data, the TUMI Data Hub will also incorporate open-source software tools for analyzing and visualizing data. This allows users to quickly and easily gain insights from the data, and to share those insights with others.

A Path forward

We believe the TUMI Data Hub to become an important tool for advancing sustainable urban mobility in the global south, and we are committed to continue to improve and expand the platform to support this goal.
